Update 1/27/2020: Ginger is the most amazingly lovable dog but we learned today she she has a physical condition which will determine the best home for her . She had a slight " head tilt" when she came to us.....and from her early vetting papers , it appeared she has had since a puppy. Sometimes this can be caused by ear issues but her ears are clear. It has not changed since she came to us and our Vet thinks it may have been caused by one of following situations, in order of likelihood. 1. Injury at birth 2. Virus as a young puppy 3. Ear infection not initially or effectively treated ( she has none known) 4. Neurological issue of undetermined cause Occasionally Ginger may bump her crate door when entering which may be caused by less than average peripheral vision ( related to the head tilt). Our vet thinks since this has been with her since her first vet visit as a puppy, ( from her original records ) and has not changed since she has been with us, most likely this will remain as a chronic but stable condition. As a result , our vet feels a home with a submissive dog or not dog would be best as well as a home with older or no children since she may startle more easily. Head tilt notwithstanding, Ginger is an affectionate, energetic and extraordinarily lovable dog and will make the right family a wonderful family member.
1/4/2020 Barely 6 months old and Ginger has not had the best life.......but all that has changed now that she is safe with ASR. Imagine 2 homes and a shelter before 6 months of age ! and given up because she's still full of puppy energy and hadn't mastered her manners yet :-( This love bug is a cuddly , in your lap kind of gal. Like all pups she needs to work on her leash manners but patience and leadership will work wonders with her, as with any dog !
**When applying to adopt one of our puppies, please remember this: Up to the age of 8 months old, puppies cannot be left alone for a standard work day. Arrangements will have to be in place for 4-6 hour intervals until the pups are at least 8 months old. Having someone with them every 4 hours until they are older greatly facilitates the housebreaking process If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.allshepherdrescue.com. Our adoption fee is $300.00.
