Andy an honoray member of ASR, left us too soon, but he along with others who left us too soon, inspired us to begin ASR to save as many dogs as possible! You are missed Andy! The Directors very reluctantly and with great sadness gave authorization to the vet to euthanize Daytona due to several incidences of escalating aggression. Daytona had been taken to the vet after being pulled from a kill shelter. When Daytona was evaluated he showed no aggression but perhaps something just snapped in him. We are so saddened by this, he was a beautiful boy with underlying issues that could be worse the next time. While we wish we could save every dog, there are some we cannot help. This is hard on all of us. This is a very sad day for ASR. Say a prayer for Daytona..........we tried to help you, boy, run free. Finkle an honoray member of ASR, left us too soon, but she along with others who left us too soon, inspired us to begin ASR to save as many dogs as possible! You are missed Finkle! Floyd an honoray member of ASR, left us too soon, but he along with others who left us too soon, inspired us to begin ASR to save as many dogs as possible! You are missed Floyd! Jackson was a stray. He came to All Shepherd Rescue late Saturday night from Virginia. He was very thin and looked as though he had seen some pretty hard times. He was so sweet and appreciative of all the attention he was now recieving, it was as if he could sense how he was finally getting all the help he needed. His foster became very concerned with how listless he was and took his temperature. Jackson had a high fever so, his worried foster mom rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital. The initial diagnosis was an internal infection caused by possible obstruction and rupture of the intestinal wall. Emergency surgery was performed. Unfortunately, Jackson was found to have inoperable and widespread cancer. With ASR's sorrowful permission, the Veterinarian released Jackson from his pain and misery without ever waking him from the anesthesia. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
