Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
In rescue, we are used to seeing dogs in all shapes and conditions but some just break your heart........and 9 year old Abbey is one of those . Even though seniors can be very hard to place, we just could not say no to this sweet girl.......and luckily had a foster who opened her heart and her home to her. Abbey was surrendered to a shelter when her person died , and from her condition, it looks like she had not been well cared for in a while. We don't know the details but sometimes human seniors living alone fail to take care of themselves and due to illness or failing memory, forget to care for their canine companions. Poor sweet Abbey suffers from significant hair loss , has an enlarged mammary gland, thickly callused elbows possibly from lying on concrete , is very thin and a bit weak in the back legs .....but has the sweetest disposition and is so grateful for a comfy bed and good food. Abbey is receiving antibiotics for her skin and supplements for her legs and over all well bring as well as a high quality food . Despite her condition, she is very sweet and grateful for every bit of affection and attention she receives. As she progresses , we will update . Thank you Christine B for your kind donation for Abbey Thank you Kelly O for your sponsorship of Abbey If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.allshepherdrescue.com.
