Update from Foster Mom! --   Abner is one cute little puppy.  It’s amazing to his foster parents that this fantastic pup hasn’t been scooped up.  Even though he is slightly smaller than his siblings, Abner will (literally) jump into the action – flying down steps and racing to get a ball or toy.  He shows a single mindedness when he focuses on something.  Typical puppy, Abner will play hard and then be ready for naptime.  If you want some puppy kisses, Abner is happy to oblige.  He loves a belly rub or any form of human attention.  Abner came to ASR, a little worse for wear - he had some infected cuts and scrapes which have since healed.  His potty training is coming along well and he loves his crate for bedtime.  Abner deserves to be a member of a loving forever home.  His foster family thinks he is one sweet boy.

Adopting and raising a  puppy is not for the faint of heart....A puppy requres a committment for a lifetime, and more patience than you can imagine, they are not cheap to raise, and they can be messy and loud and stubborn :) .....  but oh, the rewards are so worth it! . Training is so very important and should begin right from the git-go - just as with your human baby....this is so important, because you shape the dog that your puppy will become. Remember, this cute little guy is going to grow and become a cute big guy...and his deportment and social skills are in your hands!  Do your research please.  Make sure a puppy is right for you and that you can and that you will commit to him for his lifetime.  Abner is with his foster mom and polishing his social skills - ready to meet you!
