Meet our new friend, Scooby!  He is s a well-mannered, sweet, gentle boy who is house-trained, knows sit (but will wiggle the entire time) and probably other commands as well. Scooby was given up to a shelter because his owner could no longer keep him due to financial hardship. Scooby is now in search of a new and permanent home.  This handsome young man would make a wonderful addition to any family.  He is smart and so eager to please, and has never met a stranger.  Scooby would fit in with just about any type of family......kids,  one or two people - no problem...just give him love and a little training to polish those social and obedience skills and he will make a loyal and loving companion for life! Scooby is now waiting to meet his new family.

UPDATE: 9-11-11

Just an update on Scooby.  He is settling in very well.  He gets along with everyone, and doesn't really seem to notice the cats.  He loves being with his people, and if given the opportunity will follow me around and lay next to the bed or chair I'm sitting in - until Herk (our resident dog), decides Scooby is getting too much attention and sits on him...  to which Scooby just pulls himself out from under the lug-head and lays down somewhere else. There was much posturing between the two dogs, but it was more Herkimer's exuberance and size than anything. Scooby seems more laid back and calm. Not to say that Scooby isn't full of energy and puppiness - he is.  He has also shown my taller dog all the exciting things that even a shorter dog can manage to grab off the counters with enough desire.  Between the two of them, I have had my lunch stolen twice and a bowl of lucky charms scattered all over the kitchen.  But it was kind of funny watching them scoot around scarfing them up as fast as possible. Scooby kennels (crates) well and is pretty well potty trained, no accidents in the crate and only one accident in the house which was COMPLETELY human error..He can be a tad jumpy, and needs some training and a basic course in leash manners - he is learning....and he is doing fine! Scooby would be fine in a home with dog(s), cat(s) or no pets at all.  He really likes being with his people..
