Barney is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy... an all round good natured boy who found himself along with a few friends in a shelter.  Definitely not the best place to be! Now with us in rescue, Barney can be assured of finding just the right home for him!  He is super sweet and good natured. He did live with two other dogs and gets along with dogs well.   Not so sure about kitties - they were not in the previous home, so we would have to be a bit cautious there.  Barn-Barn is the type of guy that would give his whole heart - along with his wiggly body to his family!  He is not just a pretty face, no siree........this guy has substance and is just waiting for the perfect family to come along!  If you would like to meet Barney and would like more information, please contact us.....he is a great guy! 

Update from his foster:  Barney is a softie and a sweetie!  Barney is, indeed, a happy-go-lucky guy.  He's very gentle with people of ages (even the very young) and especially loves to lick baby-toes, which is always good for a giggle.  Barney walks pretty nicely on a leash for a guy without much experience - no pulling at all.  We're working on crate training - once he's in there he's pretty good, but we still have to throw a treat into the crate before he'll go in.  Barney is happy to take a long walk, or to sit by your feet and snooze - really he's up for anything so long as it involves being near you!  Barney listens well and is eager to please.  He's great with other dogs, too!  Barney's mild manners and sweet nature make him ideal for a first time dog owner.  He might even make a good therapy dog.
Barney is indeed a gentle soul.  He is just about the sweetest boy you could ever imagine.  His life before rescue is unknown' however. we know that he is trying to put the past behind him and look forward to that forever home he knows is just around the corner.....he loves everyone, little ones, big ones, and in between!  And he loves other dogs......He does get a little anxious at times - Loud noises are not at all liked! :(  And once in a while he will flinch when a hand goes over his head...poor guy. :)  He has a gentle look to his face  - he has been described as homely-cute - but his foster mom does not like that!  She says he is just as handsome as the next guy!  She loves him - and if you meet him, you will, too....You just know that this dog is a keeper.
