Update 5/19: Wendy is a charming young girl who is in search of her forever family! She joined ASR after a brief stint in the city shelter, where she was extremely emaciated, filthy and shy. After some time in a foster home, Wendy has blossomed into an amazing girl. She's all cleaned up now, still putting on some much needed weight (although much better than she was!), and learning just how much fun life really is and should be, for all dogs alike. Wendy loves other dogs and enjoys frequent play dates at our house with fellow canines - she has quite a few friends! Wendy would absolutely love a home with a fur sibling that enjoys playing as much as she does. So far, she's loved every dog that she's met and welcomes them to our backyard for a good game of chase (she really likes to be chased). Wendy also likes people, but it takes her some time to warm up. I call her my "velcro foster" she wants to be wherever I am and enjoys any attention that I give to her. However, she is still learning to trust new people, and it takes her time to warm up. Food has been a great motivator in teaching Wendy that regardless of any past experiences she has had, people are not so scary. Once she  trusts someone she's an amazingly sweet girl with a tremendous amount of love to give. Wendy is crate trained, housebroken, and working on her basic obedience and excited to find for her forever home - could it be you?

Update 3/31: Wendy is an awesome girl! She is very sweet, sensitive and loving. Wendy really enjoys playing with toys and going on walks. She is just a puppy in a big dog's body. Wendy is very tall, but still very emaciated, and  we are working on that slowly - in another month or two I expect that she will be at a much healthier weight than she was when she found herself in the shelter. She has a small frame, but is very tall and thin, however she loves food! Wendy is very skittish with new people and prefers to hide behind me when guests come to the house, but is willing to take treats from our guests as long as I am nearby. I have been working on socializing Wendy as much as possible, but this is something her adoptive family is going to have to continue. The more positive experiences she has with new people, the better. She's great with my own male GSD mix (although he doesn't like to play), but would really enjoy a playmate - she loves to play and is very animated when she does, its adorable to watch. However she also really loves people once she's comfortable and is always seeking attention. Wendy is a very smart girl, she already knows sit, paw, and how to heel nicely on a lead. She is now housebroken and crate trained as well, and given her sensitivity level she has been very easy to train. Wendy is going to make a great pet for the right family, could it be you?

Original: Pretty Wendy is sweet and shy - a demure miss, if you will.  She is unsure - and after been unceremoniously taken to a loud, noisy shelter and left there - we can understand her shyness and uncertainty. After an initial introduction and some quiet time together, Wendy is definitely your friend.  She is very, very sweet and lovable.....and pretty!  She will thrive with a soft voice and a gentle hand.  She is now in her foster home and we are learning more about her each day.  Wendy is a "velcro" dog....she wants to be your shadow - she will bond very closely with her people, and she is so very eager to please.  She is slowly coming out of her shell and showing us a sweet and loving - still a little shy personality.  Iif you would like more information and are interested in possibly adding Wendy to your family, please be sure to contact us.

Are you wondering why Wendy is sporting pink socks?  Wendy, like a lot of dogs, had dewclaws on her hind legs that needed to be removed. Surgery went well and she will be sock- less in no time!

If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our application online at www.allshepherdrescue.com.  Our adoption fee is $250.00
