1 year old Kaiya is a GSD Husky mix. She is a loving dog who likes to be petted and she loves tummy rubs.  

Kaiya is house broken and she crates easily if there is a treat waiting inside but needs to have puzzle toys and safe chew items to keep her occupied.  

Kaiya is doing really well with her training!!  She walks well on a leash and has been taking nice long walks on a daily basis.  She knows many commands and is eager and willing to learn more. She is food motivated but also has a good ball/toy drive and will do most anything for praise and affection.  :)  

Kaiya has a heightened prey drive so therefore will not do well with small animals/pets. She will chase small animals outdoors so should be leashed or in a fenced yard.  

Extra care should be taken with small or multiple children because Kaiya gets really excited when playing.  She would likely knock them over with her level of excitement.   Kaiya also sometimes displays a behavior called "mouthing" when she is engaged in heightened/active play or working.   It is a playful behavior non agressive in nature however, a child may be fearful of a dogs mouth on him/her and heighten the excitement.  Kaiya is easily redirected and is happy with a replacement such as a toy or tug. 

Kaiya would make a great running or hiking buddy.  She also displays a lot of potential for a canine sport such as rally, agility, or disc dogs.  She is very agile, and athletic.  She is quick to learn and loves the work.  :)

Kaiya's part blue part brown eyes are called heterochromia and they are normal and healthy.

She will benefit from having a family with previous GSD experience.  Introductions with new dogs need to be done slowly.
