Before you read any further, please understand that Max is a special needs placement and will only be placed in a home without children, with minimal visitors in which he can be separated from when they are in his home, and one with breed experience.

If this is not your situation, we have many other wonderful dogs that could be a fit for you - just not Max.

Max is a great dog when he is in his comfort zone and he loves his family more than anything.
Max is a mature guy, he doesn't get into things and he's completely house broken.

He's content to lay around when his family is not home and excited to see them when they return.
Max loves most other dogs, small and large, and has many canine friends that he enjoys walking with.

He also loves to eat, play ball and have his belly rubbed. He really is a big baby at heart.

Max has been living in a foster home for an extended period of time due to medical and behavioral issues.
Unfortunately Max was diagnosed with hip dysplasia shortly after joining ASR and a hip replacement was recommended and performed.
Shortly after his surgery he began showing signs of infection and the replacement needed to be revised with a second surgery.
Max is now doing great with his new hip, but he continues to struggle with fear aggression towards those outside of his immediate family.

His foster family has been able to manage Max's limitations by putting him up when visitors are in their home and expects that any potential adopter would need to do the same.

If you think you may have room in your heart and home for a special needs placement like Max, please reach out to his foster for more information:  furryfriends24@yahoo.com
