Update 11/17/2024 : Penny is doing well while enjoying rest and relaxation after starting her Heartworm Treatment. With good food and care, Penny's ribs are showing less and she has been given the OK by her vet to start treatment, which starts soon. Please keep this exceptionally sweet girl in your thoughts as she starts Heartworm treatment. Heartworm treatment is painful and can be fatal if a clot of dead heartworms break off and travel to her lungs. Pulmonary embolisms are serious and can be fatal :-( Just like a brand new penny, our Penny is bright and shiny...now that she is safe and out of the shelter, that is :-) We don't know anything about Penny's past, but we know she is an affectionate, happy dog, who is great with people and dogs. But by her physical appearance (ribs showing and almost 20 lbs under weight) and her behaviour --she cringes as if she was not rested well before :-(........we know her past life was not good . After just a few days with ASR, she is starting to " shine" and we are so happy we could give her a new chance at a wonderful life ! Thank you, Peg C for sponsorship for Penny through 1/1/2025.
