Charlie is a dear family dog who needs a new home. Charlie has lived with a newborn baby for the past 2.5 months. He is very curious/inquisitive of her but the family is concerned that he may get too protective of her from other people.

The perfect situation would be an active single individual who likes to take him to different places and on hikes/adventures. He loves car rides and his favorite places are the park (including Patapsco State Park) and the farm.  

He would also well with an older couple or a home with with older, experienced kids.

He is a very intelligent, active dog who likes going on trips and learning new things. He needs to be mentally and physically stimulated to be truly happy. He loves sleeping on the couch and will cuddle when he chooses.

He knows a lot of commands: 

• Obedience:  Place, Crate, Down, Sit, Here (Come), With Me (Heel), Touch, Around, Under, Over, Up Up, Off, Back, Leave it, Wait, Give, In, Out.
• Directional: Inside, Porch, Too Far, Let's Go , ,
• Tricks/Play: Sit Pretty, Crawl, Bow, Paw/Other Paw, Spin/Other Way,  

He has not lived with other dogs, but gets positive reviews from the daycare/boarding place which he attends (TK-9). He goes to a farm where he interacts and plays well with the other barn dogs.  He has lived with a cat, but it's probably not the ideal situation for him.

Charlie will be a devoted companion to a person or family who have time and love to give him.
