Lulu is a 17-month-old female German Shepherd Dog (GSD) who has faced significant challenges early in life. For the first nine months, she was confined to a pen covered with a tarp before being surrendered to a rescue organization. 

Like most herding breeds, Lulu thrives with consistent leadership and structure. She is a beautiful dog who is both house and crate trained and gets along well with other dogs.  Her foster caregivers have enrolled her in obedience classes, and she demonstrates good behavior on a leash and has excellent recall. 

Lulu would be an ideal companion for joggers or hikers who feel nervous hiking alone, as she is always alert and aware of her surroundings.... or for anyone who yearns for the affection and undying loyalty of a very deserving dog who had a terrible start in life. 

Due to her lack of experience living with children, she is recommended for an adult-only home.

Lulu is a warm and affectionate dog with people she knows, but she can and has nipped when startled.  She has been showing great improvement with consistent training but just needs the right person to help build her confidence. 

She will thrive with an adopter experienced with herding or guardian breeds. Lulu will undoubtedly make a loving and loyal companion to a fortunate individual. 

Unfortunately, it is imperative that Lulu finds a home by April 1st due to changes in her foster caregivers' job situation which prevent them from continuing to foster her.
