Hey! This Charley is a girl!  She is a beautiful lady and she needs a new home.  Charley was a very much loved member of a family, but recently her owner got sick and Charley had to find a new place to hang her leash.  She is very pretty and exceptionally sweet.  She will alert you when someone is coming to the door and as soon as she sees that all is ok, she takes a sniff or two and settles herself right down.  Charley bonds very tightly to her people and will be a loving and loyal family member.  She will make an awesome family pet.  Charley is a lady - not a silly puppy anymore, but she still loves to go for walks and romp and play.  Charley was not raised with small children, so we would recommend that she go to a home with older children - and those that are familiar with large dogs.  There were no cats in the home, so we are not sure if she would be ok with them...she did chase bunnies --  so maybe not. :)  Charley did live with a little dog and they got along just fine.  She will need a little polishing - needs to have some brush up on her leash manners and some basic training with her people....just to get the basics down together - so they can both be on the same page.  Charley is all set and ready to move on and we are very sure that you will fall in love with this very pretty and special girl.

Update from Charley's Foster:

Charley has made herself comfortable in her foster home. She has learned a few new rules like "no dogs  on the furniture" and "your bed is on the floor".  Apparently Charley was a bit of a "princess" in her previous home! :)   Charley is a very affectionate, intelligent girl and has caught on quickly to the routine. She is going to need a consistent, breed savvy owner to ensure that Charley always knows who is in charge.  Charley is housebroken, crate trained (with a treat), loves to play ball, or just hang out at my side. She is a very loyal companion!  Charley is living with three cats and
another female shepherd. She does like to chase the cats but is easily corrected by voice command. If Charley's new home has a dog in residence already, a male dog might be better able to cope and accept a potentially "bossy" female.:)  Charley is a love - If you feel that Charley could be your family's next very best friend, please do contact us and arrange to meet her.
