DULCIE HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!!!! CONGRATS, DULCIE!
Dulcie unfortunately found herself in real serious trouble. No home, no family, no friends, no food. She was picked up as a stray and brought to a kill shelter. This pretty, petite little girl was pulled at the last minute by a wonderful friend of this rescue and is now with us and safe in her new foster home. Dulcie, is a very sweet little lady and she gets along well with other dogs. She has a pretty face and she has a nice, friendly disposition. :) She seems to have had no formal training, although she is very eager to please, so a course in basic obedience would be recommended. This will help with Dulcie's confidence and it will also help to make sure that she is a well behaved and obedient dog that is a pleasure to have as part of the family. Please ask to meet this lovely little lady. She would make a wonderful addition to any home! Update: Dulcie is settling in well. She gets along well with my dogs, though she doesn't appreciate her head being chewed on! She is doing great with my cats and is housetrained and crate trained. She jumped on the couch like it was bought just for her sleeping pleasure! Update from Foster Mom: While I have only been with ASR for a few months, I have fostered many many GSD for another rescue. In all that time my male GSD, Ike, has never really taken to any of them. Oh, he tolerates them, he has no choice, and generally takes it all in stride. In fact, he is a very typical GSD. He prefers his pack to anything else. We can go out and socialize, be at larger PR events, and he is a very good boy. He will sniff and greet and then mind his own business. Perfect boy. In his entire life he has initiated play with a total of 5 dogs. 3 were members of his pack, and one is a friends Australian Cattle Dog. But Dulcie, well he is in love. He initiates play, shares his toys( which is unheard of, he growls at his own pack if they get close to his toys), and wrestles and generally acts like a puppy with her. In fact, she is so amazing that my Lab will play with her and so will my dog aggressive female GSD. Dulcie has this innate way about her that us playful and yet in no way threatening. She has yet to meet a dog that has not loved her.
In fact, Ike, who breaks out of every crate made in 10 seconds flat, will even stay in a crate if it is next to her. She is a miracle in a 40 lb body. I can't wait to find her a great home. This little girl just warms my heart. All my fosters are wonderful, and I remember each one. But Dulcie is different, she is the first foster I have ever had that I have seriously considered adopting. Alas a townhouse and 4 dogs is just too much for me forever........keep my little miss priss in mind for families who already have a dog, and kids and lots of love. Dulcie is amazing and deserves( as they all do) a perfect home.
PS. She is crate trained, great with cats, housebroken, active yet a snuggle bunny, just an all around great girl.
