Axel is a sweet gentleman who is eagerly waiting for his perfect forever family. He will greet them everyday after work with a tail wag and kisses at the front door.
He loves to play ball and will do it as long as his people can throw. But he is great at chilln' in the house as well. Give him a squeaky toy and he is happy as a clam. Axel is very smart, and learns super fast. He even does a few tricks, like shaking, waving goodbye, high 5 and is learning how to play dead. He would really benefit from an obedience class with his family, it will help him bond and learn to trust his new people.
Axel gets along well with his foster brother and sister, another Shepherd and a Lab; and he is perfect gentleman with the cats as well. I even caught him sharing his dinner happily with a brave feline housemate.
He is very polite in the house, housebroken, does not get into trash and greets visitors with a happy dance and wagging nub.
This great guy went through a lot before coming into rescue and he has bravely overcome every hurdle. He is now patiently waiting to have a family to call his own.
