This big and beautiful young man is Tristan!      Tristan has been fine with other dogs and so far is getting to know his foster fur-sister....they are still figuring it out. :)  He is not a friend of cats.....he did chase the old, resident kitty..and she was not amused!   Tristan will definitely chase.  Because of his size, we recommend a home without babies or toddlers.

Update:  This big 103 lb, very active and handsome 4 yr old guy is Tristan. He has been in his foster home for about two weeks after a life in and out of his local shelter where he was a favorite.  His foster family thinks he is terrific, also. He’s definitely enjoying life in a loving attentive home. While we are still learning about him, we can say that he is a friendly boy, who wants to be close to and please his people; he loves attention from his foster family. He is learning basic commands and generally complies, but this aspect of his training needs reinforcement. As with many GSDs, Tristan likes to be the alpha so his forever home will have to be experienced with GSDs to keep his dominance in check. Since he discovered the toy box about a week ago, we have seen his playful personality grow. He loves to play with the ball or rope toy. He’ll bring the ball back (most of the time) and you will tire of the game before he does. Antlers are his favorite for chewing. His manners need work but he is a smart boy and is responding well to instructions. As his comfort level increases, I am sure that more of his natural personality will be apparent. Tristan is being treated for lyme and tapeworm. Tristan will do best in an experienced home where his family is committed to working with him on achieving his potential. Because of his size and activity level, we recommend a no cat home without babies, toddlers or small dogs. He certainly does not realize how large he is and when he wants to get close, watch out, he may knock you over .
