Dear You: I thought I'd take a moment and update you on how I am doing these days. I've been part of ASR for a little over a year now and that is okay. They take great care of the dogs and I have been very warm, well-fed, and happy. My heartworm issue has been taken care of and I am receiving my monthly preventative to keep those nasty critters away for good. My foster mom feeds me really well and I have gained back the weight I lost while I was out running the mean streets of goodness knows where. Initially Mom had me on some digestive enzymes to help me get my system back in line and working properly. Now she just gives me 1 - 1.5 tablespoons of organic plain yogurt and this seems to be working. She feeds me a raw diet, but I can do just fine on a good quality dog kibble if it is soaked a bit before you give it to me. I have a tendency to eat too quickly sometimes (I forget that I am safe now) and I can choke. We don't want that to happen so, a little warm water if you feed me kibble will be just fine. I love to take walks and smell the smells; I walk nicely on the leash. Due to the weather, I have not been to any parks lately but I do okay with other dogs as long as they don't crowd me. You could call me a socially reserved gentleman. I can be social, but I like my space. I am not aggressive toward cats, but my curiosity might kill them. Just kidding, that was a little twist on the "curiosity killing the cat" expression. Recently I cornered one under the sofa and I was working my way under to fetch him out. I really don't mean them any harm, but it would be best if my new home was cat-free. I am quiet, well-behaved, know enough basic obedience to get me by at my age. My ideal home is one with a settled person or persons, no cats, a warm soft bed, lots of treats, tennis balls to chew on, and LOVE.
