Puppy Love! Crockett is typical adolescent "puppy" - funny, playful, energetic, and happy. He just celebrated his 1st birthday and his birthday wish is to find his forever home!  He craves human attention and, therefore, needs a home where he has a short alone time (1-3 hours).  Crockett loves to jump, run and play with his humans and the senior GSD in his foster home. He loves to play ball and his humans will tire of the game, long before he does. He would probably excel in agility training (after he masters obedience training).

Crockett is very sweet, full of kisses for his humans and play bows for his foster sister. A head or belly rub is a favorite pastime. He wants to be near his humans, often just chewing on a antler/bone with at least one of his foster parents in sight. He will fetch a toy and bring it back (most of the time). After play time, he generally settles in for a nap to recharge, but he is soon ready for another round of play.

He’s been good in the house, although he will counter surf if he is given an opportunity. Crockett dislikes the crate and has done well being left, for short periods of time, in ‘dog safe’ rooms when his humans aren’t home. He much prefers going with his humans, though – especially for car rides or hikes in the woods. He is curious about everything and alerts when he hears or sees something unexpected. He is learning basic commands and is eager to please, but given his size and energy, Crockett will require discipline and training. We are unsure about cats - he will chase but can be distracted.

Crockett joined ASR with some health issues but is doing well on a grain free diet. We think he may have some food allergies, which caused ear and skin infections.
