"Sammie" is a small Shepherd and will not get any larger. She weighs 48 lbs. and stands 24" at the shoulder. She can be gentle, obedient and walks very well on a leash. She is looking for that perfect someone who will show her what love is and show her all that life has to offer a sweet girl. She is very fast and might make an excellent agility or rally partner. She also likes "dock-diving" into the foster's pond. She is learning to "play" with toys and to fetch.

Sammie will need someone with breed experience who will help teach her the things she does not know. She spent the first two years of her life living in a "Vari-kennel" in a 6 x 12 run. She has been bred twice and although can be very loving and attentive to certain individuals, she can be reactive to others. She is absolutely wonderful when she is on a leash; is quiet, walks nicely, sits when handler stops, etc. But she can be extremely reactive when she is off leash. She gains her "confidence" from being connected with her handler. She will need definite attention in her "off-leash" skills. 

She has not been tested with children. She has met the cats that belong to her foster, and on-lead she is fine with them ~ even giving them "kisses". The foster has no doubt that if given a chance, she will chase the cats and do harm. She also chases the foster's horse. When leashed, she will sit quietly and be very friendly to the horse. At this point she appears to be okay with dogs. 

NOTE: - Sammie is allergic to chicken and chicken-based foods, treats, etc.  She does not appear to have any issues with grains at this point.
