Sponsored by MJ and Duane Kress of Woodbridge, NJ In honor of Schultz, killed in the line of duty, November 30, 2010 Gloucester Township, NJ (Click here for the story) Little Echo is a beautiful girl. She looks to be a long or medium coated German Shepherd. She is really still very much a baby, and is at this point pretty shy and timid. She is definitely not sure why her world has undergone so many changes. Echo is in her foster home now with other dogs and some cats and all are getting along very well. She is warm, safe and comfortable. Her foster parents are taking it a little slow just now. Echo needs a little help in regaining confidence in herself and also to trust in people and in herself. It will come in time - she is a sweet and smart little girl. Please contact us for more information about Echo. Update 1/12/11 - Echo has come a long way since she came into the rescue. She is no longer shy and timid and has turned into the happy and bouncy brat-puppy she is supposed to be:). She is smart, affectionate and likes nothing better than to harass the cats <she needs to be adopted to a cat-free home>, collect dog toys, shoes and laundry and put them together in a pile for safekeeping! The TV remote is not safe until it is in Echo's special pile! Unfortunately, a heart murmur was discovered when Echo went to the vet. When the murmur did not go away after a few weeks of good care and nutrition, Echo was sent to the cardiologist for consultation and recommendations for her care. Echo has a condition called "pulmonary stenosis", a narrowing of the pulmonary artery where it exits the heart. She will need medication twice daily for the rest of her life ($7 per month), twice yearly regular vet and yearly cardiology check ups. She may require a procedure in the future to open the narrow area in her heart: it is important to us that Echo's prospective adopters know this ahead of time and can commit to giving her the care that she needs.
